As a partner of Stirling Community Media (SCM), Stirling’s charity developing opportunities in the creative media sector, SVE would like to invite you to a Valentine’s Launch Party from 1 to 2 pm on Wednesday 14 February at the First Floor Studios in 44 King Street

From St Valentine’s Day, the radio station will be branded Stirling Community Radio. It will do what the name suggests: focus radio broadcasting on the many communities, both place-based and communities of interest, in the Stirling area.

The re-launch comes as the Community and Media Matters project - a partnership between Creative Stirling and Stirling Community Media - nears its first anniversary and the successful engagement with over hundreds of young people in radio broadcasting. The Young Start initiative, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, offers a progressive ladder of media training opportunities over three levels: Inspire, Connect and Support. To date, over 300 young people aged between 12 and 24 years, from schools and community organisations in Stirlingshire have accessed one or more of the project’s learning.
