Jo Mango

From joining David Byrne on stage at the Carnegie Hall, to being a key part of the house band for the magical collaborative Zero Degrees of Separation tour, playing alongside Vashti Bunyan and Devendra Banhart/Vetiver in iconic venues across the UK, Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jo Mango has built wonderful musical moments for over two decades now. Alongside performing, she has co-written singles for Scottish bands including Teenage Fanclub and Admiral Fallow, and been part of devising award-winning gig theatre - A Giant on the Bridge (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2023).

Jo's debut solo album Paperclips and Sand was released in 2006 and saw her perform live on taste-making US radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic (KCRW), with shows at SXSW in the US, NXNE in Canada, tours in Japan, and a Single of the Week on BBC Radio 2. Her new solo record The Lightswitch, due for release this year, was produced by composer, performer and producer Adem (The Ballad of Wallis Island) and features the Elysian Collective on strings (Pulp, Florence and the Machine) and Chris Vatalaro on drums (Radiohead, Brian Eno).

David Kay

Hidden gem of Scottish stand-up comedy, quirky, surreal and original. Scone based comedy at its finest. Seen on ‘Gary Tank Commander’, ’The Comedy Underground’ (BBC Scotland) and ‘The Alternative Comedy Experience’, (Comedy Central). Kay’s laidback, gentle and original style has won him many fans. Known for scone based comedy alongside everyday observations and rambling stories. “Kay arrives looking as though he should be in an art school indie band yet talking as if he's a senior citizen”, “Impossible not to laugh” (Scotsman) “Original in the extreme” (The List) “Scottish Prince of ultra-deadpan esoteric humour” (Three Weeks).

Kieren King

Kieren King is a Manchester-based spoken word artist with 17 years of performance experience. In that time, he has performed at venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury and Kendal Calling, and for organisations including Amnesty International and Musicians Without Borders.

Kieren was one of the hosts of Bang Said The Gun: Manchester and the creative mind behind the acclaimed spoken word nights Slamchester, Evidently, and the Word War Slams.

Kieren is a Great Northern Slam champion and a four-time UK National Slam finalist (Hammer & Tongue – 2016 & 2017, Farrago – 2023 & 2024). During the Edinburgh Fringe run of Stand Up & Slam, he was undefeated in a competition pitting poets against stand-up comedians.

He was commissioned by Guy Garvey of Elbow to curate a spoken word event as part of his Meltdown festival at the Southbank Centre. He has also been a featured guest performer for writer and former NME journalist and Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam as part of his Not Quite Light Weekender. Additionally, he was commissioned by Salford Reds Rugby League to write and record a poem celebrating their appearance in the Super League Grand Final - a video that received over 100,000 views across social media.

Kieren has been featured on BBC Radio 4 and was commissioned by Sky to write and perform a poem for TV to launch their channel Blaze. His debut collection Spit & Sawdust was released in October 2025.

Kathleen Hughes

Kathleen Hughes is a Glaswegian comedian who has firmly cemented herself as one to watch in Scottish comedy. Her fresh, insightful humour has seen her to the finals of So You Think You’re Funny? and Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, as well as sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Comedy Festival, and appearances on BBC Scotland’s Breaking the News.
